Dear creative leader, every week on TCLN: The Creative Leadership Network, I sit with a single question worth your attention. This week, I am asking — What if your favorite politician is saying exactly what you’ve been wanting to hear… even making the changes you’ve been pushing for in your own community… but behind all of it, they’re backed by major power players you don’t fully agree with?

Do you celebrate the results… or question the influence behind the results?

How do you, as Americans, especially as leaders in your own neck of the woods navigate a dilemma like this? Do you choose what feels like the greater evil… or the lesser evil? The greater good… or the lesser good?

Because in American politics, those two things don’t always line up the way people assume they do.

Let’s go there!

Because this is where most people split into two camps. One says: follow the money. The other says: judge the results. But leadership in the real world is more complicated than both.

Money in politics is not new. It is structural. It is legal. And it is deeply embedded in how elections work in the United States. Political campaigns cost money: staff, advertising, data, outreach, travel. And that money has to come from somewhere.

That means candidates are always connected to donors, PACs, advocacy groups, unions, corporations, and ideological organizations. But here’s the key insight that mainstream news and most people miss: influence is not the same thing as control.

And the BiG question on TCLN Network this week is Do you take the money? Or, do you go with the results?

This week’s theme is AIPAC ( big money influence in politics) and the Leadership in focus Jasmine Crockett and her support of Representative Wesley Bell who won the Democratic primary for Missouri’s 1st Congressional District U.S. House seat, where he defeated Representative Cori Bush.

TCLN has to ask the harder question:

Would you reject a politician who helps your community if you disagreed with who supports their campaign or would you focus on results over where the money comes from?
